This is the last week of the semester. When we return from break, we will stat a new semester with new classes and new artists. So here is a look at a few of the projects that are sneaking in at the last minute and wrapping up the semester. This piece is one of the Redo projects. The original piece was a painting of a flower. For her Redo, she decided to try her hand at site specific perspective. The images are painting different sizes which are placed at different distances from each other. You can only see the entire image if you look at it from one specific location. These are so fun! Who doesn't like a cardboard wrapped yarn dinosaur! not only did she make a bunch, she also taught several other students how to make them. This fully functional bag was created from cut paper. Unfortunately, I only captured these poor quality photos before she took it home. These photos don't do it justice.
That's a wrap! See you next semester! Here at The Art of South Brunswick High School, NC, we incorporate the Teaching for Artistic Behavior or TAB philosophy in our classroom. TAB states that the student is the artist and the art room is their studio. We believe students should be involved in the entire artistic process including designing, creating, and reflecting on their work. It is our job as teachers to present ideas and concepts, demonstrate techniques and materials, and encourage and support our students to create and produce works of art at the highest level.
